Inspired Beginnings
In 1983, Shirley Terry-Lopez, founder and CEO of Beyond Beauté, embarked on her beauty career as an image consultant and make-up artist, driven by her passion for creating positive changes in people’s lives.
By 1986, Shirley had opened a 1,200-square-foot facial salon in Deer Park, Texas, named Beyond Beauté Skin Care. As the sole skin care specialist and employee for two years, she diligently partnered with local dermatologists to address her clients’ skin care challenges. Her dedication and commitment laid the foundation for what Beyond Beauté would become.
Embracing Wellness
Shirley’s journey into the science of longevity and stress-related diseases revealed the profound impact of touch in reducing stress and enhancing quality of life. Inspired by the holistic approaches of European spas, she integrated wellness services, including massage and body treatments with natural seaweed and minerals, to boost the immune system.
In 1991, Shirley expanded her vision by opening a second location in the Clear Lake area, transforming the business into Beyond Beauté Day Spa and Wellness Retreat. Her dedication to health and wellness, combined with a growing team of like-minded professionals, propelled Beyond Beauté to new heights.
A Legacy of Passion and Compassion
Over three decades later, Shirley’s passion for wellness and beautiful skin remains unwavering. What began with a single technician has blossomed into a family of over 30 employees. Shirley’s dynamic personality and expertise have made her a sought-after guest speaker in the United States and England. Her generosity extends to various charities, women’s shelters, and non-profit organizations throughout Texas.
Shirley’s motto, “If you enjoy creating a positive change in someone’s life, begin with your own. Embrace your passion and practice living your life as if it was your last day on earth,” encapsulates the philosophy driving Beyond Beauté’s continued success.
